ASL: Second 120 Basic Signs

Another Group of 120 Essential Signs in ASL for More Frequent Use

By Able Lingo | in Online Courses

In this course, you're going to learn to sign and understand 120 basic signs in American Sign Language (ASL). The signs are divided into 12 groups of 10 words. Each sign has its own video where students can learn and practice. Each section has its own review and testing where students can demonstrate their signing and recognition skills. As the course progresses, the review becomes more advanced and includes testing for 3 groups at once. At the end, students are tested on all 120 signs learned throughout the course.

ASL: First 120 Basic Statements

Master 120 Common ASL Statements with 300+ Vocabulary Signs

By Able Lingo | in Online Courses

To start this course, you should've mastered personal and possessive pronouns. Next, the 120 statements are divided into groups of ten. Each ASL statement has its own video lesson where the statement is broken down into individual signs. The instructor will teach you handshape, hand position, and hand motion for each sign. The signs are put together and we practice signing the full statement. After each group of 10 statements, there will be a mini-review, as well as after 3 groups of 10 statements (30 statements). All review sections have 2 parts to test the student’s signing and understanding abilities. After learning all 120 statements, you'll be able to sign full ASL narratives created with mix and matched vocabulary and sentence structures from the ASL statements.

ASL: SIGN WHAT? Beginner Quizzes

Use Multiple Choice Quizzes as a Foundation for Learning Vocabulary, Sentences, & Questions

By Able Lingo | in Online Courses

This course will use quizzes as a foundation for learning how to sign and understand practical vocabulary, statements, and questions in ASL. First, it will go over some basics including the ABCs and fingerspelling skills. After that, each section starts with a multiple choice quiz. The instructor will sign something and you try to choose the correct answer. Don’t worry if you have to guess. The instructor will teach you how to sign each answer in a separate lesson immediately after the quiz. Along the way, you’ll fingerspell names, learn pronouns, absorb vocabulary, and sign complete statements and questions. Of course, there will be lots of reviews that will test your signing and understanding skills.

ASL: 101 Inspiring Life Quotes

Boost Your ASL Finger Fluency with Inspiring Quotes, Letter Practice, & Uplifting Music

By Able Lingo | in Online Courses

In this course, you’ll use a combination of inspiring quote translation, ASL letter practice, and uplifting music to improve your foundational fingerspelling skills. The quotes will first appear spelled out in ASL letters. Your job is to decipher the message. In the following lesson, the quote will reappear in English letters. Music will play and a red dot will bounce above each individual letter in the quote. If the red dot is above an E you sign an E, if the red dot is above a P you sign a P, and so on. We do this at two separate speeds multiple times for the entire quote. Throughout the course, uplifting music is used to make the experience even more enjoyable.
